Michelle is a co-founder and current managing member of Innate Immunity and President of the Board of Directors. She is the Founder and CEO of the High Desert Discovery District (HD3), the first startup accelerator in New Mexico with the purpose of commercializing and bringing to market technologies created in New Mexico that will become high growth companies and create long lasting economic development and wealth in the state.
In her roles at Innate Immunity, she holds executive and board level responsibility for the performance of the startup. She creates and oversees industry partnerships and stakeholder relationships; raises equity investment; manages the board and investors; leads regulatory approval processes; and works to develop and execute the overall strategy and ROI for this young company.
Dr. Gupta retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory in 2017 after a 30+ year career, and now holds the position of Senior Research Scientist at the New Mexico Consortium is the Co Founder and Chief Scientific Officer for Innate Immunity.
In his role at Innate Immunity, Dr. Gupta leads all scientific, technology and product development. He oversees several teams, both at the Innate Immunity lab/greenhouse in Los Alamos and in partnership with the USDA, commercial producers/growers, and other research teams affiliated with universities and industry led research groups.
John is a fourth generation farmer and native of Stanislaus County. He is President of Duarte Nursery Inc., the largest permanent crops nursery in the United States and is the leading tree and vine supplier located in Hughson, CA. Duarte Nursery is an industry leader in nursery science, technology and research, and employs more than 800 people annually. Duarte Nursery’s Dry Creek Laboratory focuses on micropropagation to meet demand for clonal rootstocks for our Prunus program, focusing primarily on almonds, as well as pistachios and walnuts. The laboratory has expanded Duarte Nursery’s ability to continue its “growth through innovation” by making micro-propagated clonal rootstocks commercially available for many fruit and nut trees, for which they were previously not an option.
John graduated from California State University, San Diego in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance, and earned an MBA from University of the Pacific in 1997.
Greg brings over four decades of senior management and financial engineering experience in commercial and investment banking, as well as numerous industrial executive management positions. He has vast experience in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructurings, both as a principal and intermediary, in addition to all types of financings and public offerings. He has owned and operated numerous companies for his own account. He currently serves as Chairman of CASS Holdings, LLC, a holding company for five privately owned companies, in the industrial composites, Government services and financial services industries.
Throughout his long and successful career, Greg has mentored and guided many business peers, young executives and entrepreneurs. He has also been an investor in numerous startup companies as an Angel and a Venture Fund LP. This lead him to become involved in HD3 in 2010, and play a significant leadership role with the organization as a director, advisor and investor. Given his long established devotion to assisting young companies, he was invited to become a board director to Innate Immunity where he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company.
Carlos brings over 25 years of extensive product development and management experience in field characterization, development and deployment of traditional, biotechnology, and biorational crop protection and plant health technologies. Demonstrated success in delivering project results, as well as establishing and growing market share through leadership of people/teams and building cross- functional collaborations.
He has held positions at some of agriculture's largest companies including Koch Agronomic Services/Koch Biological Solutions and Monsanto Company. Additionally, he worked at a variety of midsize companies providing a unique knowledge base and perspective he brings to Innate Immunity as a member of the board.
Carlos holds a Ph.D in Crop and Soil Sciences from Oregon State University, a MS in Plant Pathology from Colorado State University, and a BS in Crop Sciences from California Polytechnic State University.
